and there's no place else to say it. Couldn't find a place to lodge a complaint there. Jonathan Capehart, filling in on UP this morning offended me by his response to a horrific, absolutely horrific report from Iraq, and his blithe, happy voice moving on right away to another topic. This was not in the midst of various news reports. I like him well enough as a commentator, he's okay. But this was just awful.
The news report from Iraq by an on-the-ground reporter about what ISIS was doing, as I say, told of horrific and sadistic actions.
He had heard that many had been killed, 40 women had been kidnapped and:
people were being buried alive.
Sickening. Evil. A total outrage on humanity. And yet. NO RESPONSE except to move on to some lighter story. Not even a recognition in his tone of voice. Someone needs to tell this man to listen to what is being broadcast and that sometimes you need to not go by the script. Shame on MSNBC for putting on a man who has not had enough experience to know this, and to not prepare him and prompt him on how NOT to react to horrors and mass killings.
Perhaps my outrage at the ISIS action is being misplaced? But we have to expect more to get better media, and though I generally appreciate MSNBC, this truly offended me and I wanted them to know. There.
